Stolz Goes High, Wide, & Qualified at Linda’s Speedway!
Friday, October 3
Jonestown, Pa

It’s a risk that few would make, make it three wide going into turn 1 at Linda’s Speedway, especially on the first lap of the heat race. But Bloomsburg’s Sean Stolz threw caution to the wind and did just that, and it was the start of something special. Stolz ran the top for the rest of the heat race and would win heat race number 3 going away. The 600 feature would roll out behind the black 33 and Mike Rutherford. Most had already given Rutherford the win, but that was not the case. As the race played out, Rutherford was in lap traffic by lap 7 and on lap 8, Stolz was catching Rutherford as he tried to get through traffic. As Rutherford continued to use the bottom, it was Stolz who went to the top. From the top, Sean drove around Rutherford into the lead and actually passed 2 other cars, it was as if he was indeed shot out of a cannon. The caution flag would fly after Rutherford had wrecked. When the green dropped, Stolz was left to hold off long time 600 campaigner Barry Shear, who had nothing for Stolz, who admitted in victory lane, he did not think his first win at Linda’s Speedway would come in a 600. 2 other caution flags after he had the lead did not rattle the cage of Stolz as he just merely pulled away after each restart. Stolz has had his 270 at Linda’s Speedway numerous times over the past few years and enjoyed success, last year with a top 5 at the National. Stolz added he couldn’t believe he was in victory lane at Linda’s Speedway, and on top of that he was locked into the National Open.  Stolz earned a 6th place finish in his 270 RTS Chassis.
